Christmas/New Year festivities over!  Spent yesterday evening at Blackheath with the Flamsteed Astronomy Society.  Some impressive telescopes and binoculars at this meeting but London light pollution is a big problem.   Had good views of Jupiter, the Orion Nebula, the Double Cluster and not such a good view of Andromeda which looked like a faint, fuzzy patch of light but could not see the spiral arms.  Apparently it’s possible to see the spiral arms when viewing from a darker place.  Lovely clear night but with a cold breeze.
