Visited the Courtauld Gallery on Wednesday to see the Toulouse Lautrec exhibition. What a treat! I can’t wait to go back for another look. The permanent collection is also excellent. Had very interesting conversations about The Invisible Dragon.

Cecily Brown at the Gagosian was dissapointing – slight and unresolved – maybe these are a transition to something else?

I’ve been considering using oil paints again and have realised that maybe I need to engage with their materiality in a slightly different way – experiments are underway.

Its been a while but I’ve been away in France camping, cycling, collecting fossils and eating cakes!

Chalkpit near Avenue Vert

Surprising cake from Pont Authou - was expecting grillet pomme!

Visited Monet’s house and garden at Gisores on the wettest day possible. The Museum of Impressionism at Gisores had a Bonnard exhibition – what a treat. Cycled back via the Seinne – lovely ride – no more rain.

Now contemplating how my ideas could be realized in paint.
